Vegan Vanilla Custard


  • 450ml vegan milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp FREEE Cornflour
  • pinch of salt


  1. Measure the milk into a jug then pour it, except 100ml, into a saucepan.
  2. Add the sugar and vanilla to the saucepan. Heat the pan, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Add the cornflour to the milk in the jug and stir until smooth. Stir in the salt.
  4. Pour the warm milk into the jug, stir then immediately pour everything back into the saucepan.
  5. Cook over a medium heat, stirring occasionally as the custard thickens.
  6. Bring to the boil then remove from the heat.
  7. Return the custard to the jug and serve.
