Vegan Cinnamon and Maple Syrup Drop Scones


  • 50g FREEE Chickpea Flour
  • 25g icing sugar
  • ½ tsp FREEE Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp FREEE Xanthan Gum
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 150ml boiling water


  1. Line a large baking tray with parchment and pre-heat the oven.
  2. Sieve the flour, sugar, baking powder, xanthan gum and cinnamon into a bowl and stir to combine.
  3. Add the oil and syrup and mix into a paste.
  4. Stir in the boiling water to make a thick smooth batter.
  5. Spoon batter into nine 7cm/3” rounds on the prepared baking tray.
  6. Bake for 30 - 35 minutes.
