Toad in the Hole

Ingredients

  • YORKSHIRE PUDDING
  • 200g Doves Farm Organic Plain White Flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 300ml milk
  • TOAD IN THE HOLE
  • 25g lard or dripping
  • 4-6 sausages

Method

Yorkshire Pudding

  1. Put the flour and salt into a large bowl or jug and stir them together.
  2. Break the eggs into the bowl, add the milk and beat into a smooth batter.
  3. Refrigerate the batter for up to 12 hours – otherwise it’s ready to go.

Toad in the Hole

  1. Pre-heat the oven.
  2. When the oven is really hot put the lard, or dripping, and sausages into a 20x25/8x10” oven dish and cook for 10 minutes.
  3. Carefully remove the dish from the oven, and pour the batter into the dish.
  4. Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for 50-55 minutes depending on your preference for crispness of the pudding.
