Quinoa, Onion and Red Wine Gravy


  • 1 onion
  • 25g butter
  • 200ml stock
  • 100ml red wine
  • 2 tbsp Doves Farm Organic Quinoa Flour
  • 4 tbsp water
  • salt and pepper


  1. Slice the onion thinly and put it into a saucepan with the butter.
  2. Cover and cook gently for 5 minutes or until the onion softens without browning.
  3. Add the stock and wine and bring to the boil.
  4. Put the flour and the water into a bowl and mix into a paste.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the paste.
  6. Return the saucepan to gentle heat, stirring as the sauce thickens.
  7. Simmer gently for 2 minutes for the flour to cook.
  8. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
