Laddoo Almond Balls


  • 100g Doves Farm Organic Chickpea Flour
  • 50g ground almonds
  • 75g butter
  • 75g caster sugar
  • pinch of ground cardamom
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp icing sugar


  1. Pre-heat the oven and line the baking trays with parchment paper.
  2. Spread out the flour over baking tray and bake it for 12 – 15 minutes until lightly toasted.
  3. Spread out the almonds on the second baking tray and bake for 8 – 10 minutes until toasted.
  4. Put the butter into a saucepan and heat until melted.
  5. Add the toasted flour, almonds, sugar and cardamom.
  6. Cook over a gentle heat for 5 minutes stirring regularly.
  7. Remove the saucepan from the heat and cool slightly.
  8. Add the milk, stirring to make a soft warm dough.
  9. Divide the dough into twenty small pieces and roll each into a ball.
  10. Sieve the icing sugar over the balls so that they are coated.
  11. Serve the ladoo almond balls in mini paper cases.
  12. Store in an airtight tin.
