Gluten Free Bircher Muesli

The word muesli is typically used to describe a dry oat-based cereal, however, the Swiss nutritionist, Dr Max Bircher-Benner, insisted on soaking his oats overnight giving his name to this creamy, fruity, nutty, classic breakfast food. Prepared the evening before eating, Bircher Benner Muesli is great for a quick breakfast or to add to a lunchbox. Once you have enjoyed Bircher Muesli, you could swap fruit juice, or plant milk for the water, yoghurt for the cream and add your favourite fruits and seeds.

Vegetarian, Without crystal sugar

Ingredients

Change Quantities:
  • 2 tbsp FREEE Organic Porridge Oats
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp cream
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tbsp grated apple
  • 1 tbsp toasted chopped hazelnuts
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  1. Put the oats into a mixing bowl, a lidded glass pot or a plastic container.
  2. Add the water, cream, honey, grated apple, hazelnuts and lemon juice.
  3. Stir until well combined, cover and refrigerate overnight.
  4. In the morning stir and enjoy.
