Gluten Free Rice Flour Flat Bread Tortilla Wraps

Makes 4 flatbreads

This recipe makes approximately 4 to 6 flatbreads. Serve these flat breads warm or cold with a suitable filling of your choice.

Free from Gluten, Egg, Soya, Wheat, Dairy, Nuts
Vegetarian, Vegan, Without crystal sugar


Change Quantities:
  1. Measure the water into a jug.
  2. Put the flour and salt into a bowl and stir to combine.
  3. Add a little of the water and stir to make a smooth paste.
  4. Stir in the remaining water and oil to make a smooth thin paste.
  5. Leave the mixture to stand for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Heat a little oil in a frying pan until it is nice and hot.
  7. Pour a quarter of the mixture into the pan and smooth it into a 15cm/6” diameter circle.
  8. Cook over medium heat for 2–4 minutes as the surface changes colour and the edges start to lift.
  9. Turn the flatbread over and cook the other side for a further 2–4 minutes.
  10. Remove the cooked flatbread to a plate and cover with foil to stop it drying out.
  11. Best eaten on the day of making.
