Easy BBQ Flatbread

This easy to cook BBQ flatbread is simply delightful.  Serve with a delicious side salad and the perfect accompaniment to any BBQ. This is the recipe from our bread making workshop at Carfest South 2017.

Free from Peanuts, Egg, Soya, Nuts
Vegetarian, Organic, Without crystal sugar

Ingredients

Change Quantities:
  1. Put both flours, yoghurt, cumin and salt into a mixing bowl, add the water a little at a time to make a soft, slightly sticky dough.
  2. Using your fingers, bring the dough together and knead for 2 minutes, then tear in half and roll into 2 balls.
  3. Lightly flour the table then press each ball of dough with your fingers until you have made 2 round flatbreads.  Don't be afraid to turn the dough over if it starts to stick.
  4. Place it into an oiled BBQ or frying pan and cook until it puffs up and the underneath is flecked with brown spots.  Using tongs or a spatula, turn it over and cook on the other side.
  5. Cooking times will vary but approximately 3 minutes per side.

Such quick and easy flatbreads to make. I added half a teaspoon of turmeric with the cumin seeds and cooked them on a griddle pan. They were great served with a lentil dahl. Thanks for the great recipe!
