Description:
Rye is a member of the wheat family (Triticeae) and is also closely related to barley. It is naturally lower in gluten than wheat, producing close textured breads with a pleasing continental flavour. Originating in Turkey, it was extensively used during the Roman Empire to make rye bread.

This is the second 25kg bag that I am ordering as the first was excellent in flavour and well cleaned too, with no insect development over time in storage. I use it in my home grain mill to bake wonderful sourdough bread every week. Efficient delivery, well packaged and reasonable price too. Well done Doves Farm for catering for the increasing number of home millers amongst us :)
