This recipe makes nine savoury scone like chunks which are delicious for a picnic or served with soup or cold cuts.

Ingredients

250 gPlain White Flour or White Spelt Flour
1 ⅓ tbspsBaking Powder
1 tspSugar
1 Red Onion
2 Cloves of Garlic
2 tbspsOlive Oil
150 mlTomato Juice
1 tbspSage

Method

  1. Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, pepper and sugar.
  2. Chop the onion and garlic then add these to the bowl.
  3. Add the oil and tomato juice and bring everything together into a ball of dough.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently press it into a square about 3cm/1” thick.
  5. Cut the dough into squares and place on a flour dusted baking tray.
  6. Bake in a pre-heated oven for 20/25 minutes.

disappointed very heavy but taste good, rejected by 3 out of 5 people tasting
