English Cherry Cake

Lovely cake to share with family and friends, good with afternoon tea

Ingredients

7oz Glace Cherries
10oz Gluten Free Plain White Flour
2tsp Baking powder
8oz margarine
8oz caster sugar
4

eggs

 

Method

  1. Pre heat oven gas 3
  2. Lightly grease 8" cake tin.
  3. Cut the cherries into quarters.
  4. Place the margarine and sugar in a large bowl and cream together, add the eggs and mix.
  5. Once combined add the flour, baking powder. Mix well.
  6. Lastly add the cherries and mix.
  7. Once mixed pour into the greased cake tin.
  8. Bake in preheated oven 1 1/2 -1 3/4 hours or until inserted skewer/knife comes away clean.
  9. Leave cake to cool for about 10 minutes and them transfer to a wire rack to cool completely

Temperature & cooking time:
1 1/2 -1 3/4 hours at Gas 3
