Double Chocolate Drop Biscuits

Our recipe

A plain chocolate version of this classic biscuit recipe. Leave plenty of room on the baking tray between each biscuit as they will spread.

Ingredients

100 gButter
100 gSugar
1 Egg
½ tspVanilla Extract
1 tspBaking Powder
2 tspsCocoa
150 gPlain White Flour
25 gOrganic Plain Chocolate Drops

Method

  1. Beat together the butter and sugar.
  2. Beat in the egg, vanilla and baking powder.
  3. Mix in the cocoa, flour and chocolate chips.
  4. Roll teaspoonfuls of dough into small balls.
  5. Place the dough balls on an oiled baking tray leaving room for the biscuits to expand.
  6. Flatten each piece of dough.
  7. Bake in a pre-heated oven for 10/12minutes.
  8. Cool biscuits on a wire rack.

I have made this recipe quite a few times now but with Doves Farm Gluten free Plain White Flour - they work a treat!
I personally don't flatten the dough (point 6 of method)- this happens naturally during the cooking process. They do need to spaced far enough apart though as they do merge if placed too close together. Yum!
