These cheese scone bites are very nice just out of the oven or when cool sliced in half and spread with butter ideal as a snack of for the kids lunch box as they are bite size

Ingredients

150 ggluten & wheat free white self raising flour
3 mlsalt
3 mlmustard powder
1 mlpepper
5 mlbaking powder
25 gsoft butter
85 gcheese
50 mlmilk
90 mlegg beaten

Method

  1. Mix flour, salt, pepper, mustard and baking powder together. Rub in the butter.
  2. Mix to a soft dough with the egg and milk reserving alittle to brush the tops with.
  3. lightly flour the work surface.
  4. Press out to a round, about 2cm thickness.
  5. With a small round pastry cutter cut out about 10 or 11 scones.
  6. Place scones on a baking tin lined with baking parchment.
  7. brush tops of scones with milk/egg mixture and sprinkle on the grated cheese.
  8. Bake in oven for 10 to 15 mins oven temp 220*c standard oven or gas mark 7 or 200*c for fan oven.

Temperature & cooking time:
10 to 15 mins 220*c standard oven 200*c fan oven
