Carob sponge cake

A tasty alternative to chocolate.

Ingredients

4oz gluten free plain flour
1oz carob powder
1tsp baking powder
5oz caster sugar
5oz margine
2 eggs
1/4 tsp vanilla essance
2tbsp milk
3oz margarine
4oz icing sugar

 

Method

  1. Place flour, sugar, baking powder, butter, eggs, vanilla essence, eggs and milk into a bowl and beat well
  2. Divide between 2 greased & lined 7" cake tins
  3. Cook for 15 minutes at gas 5.
  4. Leave to cool when cool fill with butter icing, made by beating, butter & icing sugar together.

Temperature & cooking time:
15 mins at gas 5
