Topic: Starting Winter Training

9/11/2010

I am just commencing my winter training and balancing this with training to be a solicitor at a Commercial Property law firm so nutrition is very important to me with such a busy schedule, I have to ensure I take in the right foods and at the right times to keep my energy levels high as and when I need them to be.

The winter training programme consists of building up a good base of fitness and getting the muscles stronger through work in the gym with weights. There is also a need to keep in touch with the fine art technique and rhythms involved in the 400 metre  hurdles event. I will generally be sprinting up hills or running loops in a forest whilst also running on the track twice a week.

This training requires both carbohydrates and proteins but the right ones have to be consumed, this is why Doves Farm is of great help to me because all of the food is of a high standard, healthy and natural with no compromise on taste.

What is the your favorite food to get the carbs into your engine? Pasta, bread, rice or something else?
