About Doves Farm Foods
Who We Are and What We Do
Based on the Wiltshire/Berkshire border, Doves Farm Foods was established in 1978 by Michael and Clare Marriage. All the products found under the Doves Farm label are all based upon grains and cereals or are complimentary to them.
Flour milling and cereal processing produce the company's core products for professional and industrial users as well as the building blocks for Doves Farm baked products.
A wide range of specialist and gourmet flours are milled from a variety of grains and seeds. With a variety of tastes and textures, Doves Farm flours have a unique character. The home baking flour range offers
17 different flours with some suitable for those on diabetic, wheat free, gluten free or other special diets.
Many years expertise with cereal based foods enabled us to add breakfast cereals, cookies, sweet and
savoury biscuits as well as cakes and bread.
All Doves Farm products are vegetarian, quite a few are vegan and several of the company's products are also suitable for those on gluten free, wheat free, or diabetic diets.
At Home On The Farm
Located in rural Wiltshire, the Marriage family
has farmed here since 1958. Michael and Clare Marriage first became interested
in sustainable, organic farming 26 years ago and wanted to produce safe, healthy
and nutritious food, without damaging the environment.
They started to convert the first field to
organic agriculture in 1976, two years later the first organic crop of wheat was
harvested. Since then they have not looked back and now all 122 hectares are
registered with the Soil Association, UK's leading campaigning and certification
organisation for organic food and farming.
Crops grown at Doves Farm
Doves Farm is mainly arable and offers the finest grain and cereal products,
these include English Wheat, Spelt - an ancient variety of wheat, Rye, Oats and
Beans.
When crops grow they absorb essential nutrients
from the soil. To put back this goodness, without the use of artificial and
chemical fertilisers, the fields are rested and crops rotated.

The farm is part of the Countryside Stewardship
Scheme, which promotes creating wildlife habitats. Most of the fields at Doves
Farm have a permanent grass margin or beetle bank providing homes for birds,
bats and beetles. These creatures then feed on insect pests, which damage crops.
Over the winter, crop stubble is left to encourage ground nesting birds such as
Lapwings and if lucky Stone Curlew.
Animals
250 breeding mule ewes are reared at Doves Farm. Our animals receive no routine
vaccinations or feed additives. The animals are fed healthy organic grass and
allowed to grow naturally resulting in lean and tasty meat. The lambs are sold
to various organic butchers in the local area
